The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Buffalo Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that attracts so many fans into the NFL

This outcome may have opened opportunities for the New England Patriots to move back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a remaining games that gives them an edge over their 8-2 competitors

Meanwhile in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash in week 11, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award

Analysis - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?

Josh Allen in action
Did Josh Allen try too much or was it just a poor performance for Buffalo?

Could it simply have been an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs last week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Bills to address

The Bills had won seven in a row against the Dolphins but were outperformed from the beginning as the Miami team ran out 30-13 victors in an surprising outcome - and performance

MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the squad's initial first down in the third period and initial scoring in the fourth - yes the Dolphins had 10 days to get ready but it was nonetheless a massive egg produced by one of the NFL's top offences

Dolphins quarterback Tua threw two scores but rusher Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 total yards and two scores

Bottling up the NFL's top running game was also key, with James Cook and company registering just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the season and just over half their 161.5-yard season average

Then there were the three critical turnovers, and the two from Allen in particular. An pass caught by defense in the end zone resulting in a nine-minute drive yielded no points, and his final quarter fumble that the Dolphins turned into a touchdown just later

It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, getting into a deficit on defense and Josh Allen attempting to overcompensate to rescue his squad from the situation - not the calm, controlled, well-balanced Bills we've witnessed this year

The Dolphins have served up a bit of everything this season so the verdict is uncertain on if this is the start of a trend, but for Buffalo they'll require an immediate bounce-back in a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the New England are quietly moving into a comfortable advantage at the top of the American Football Conference East

In Focus - Patriots Identify Route to Surprise Top Seed

Regarding the New England, they're one of three different 8-2 squads in the league, all American Football Conference sides, but are they the best?

One could pick holes in the Patriots, the Broncos and the Colts really for dominating the lesser sides, with only five of their total twenty-four wins coming against opponents with a positive record - and one of those was the Colts beating the Denver

The Broncos beat the reigning champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the final quarter while Indy can rely on Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's win in Tampa to their primtime win in Orchard Park appears to be a declaration

Their two defeats came in recently appointed coach Vrabel's first three contests, with seven consecutive wins, similar to the Broncos, since then - but taking down Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a week off to get ready was significant

Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he definitely earns point for courage after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa Bay but persevering to steer his side to victory

The defensive unit is reliable and rookie running back Henderson exploded on Sunday with 147 yards and two exciting scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth different ball carrier to break 22mph this season on his initial touchdown

While you can argue who 'the best' is statistically, the Pats should be favourites to end with the top record thanks to their remaining opponents - which includes just a single matchup against a successful opponent, albeit a huge one against the Bills

Visiting Baltimore is also tough, but Denver have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to face two times, the Chargers (who could also compete for first place but face the identical challenge) and additionally the Green Bay on the schedule

The Colts also play the Kansas City, and have the Seahawks, 49ers and two games with the 5-4 Jaguars to face. There is a long way to travel but the door is open for a shock top seed in the AFC

Coming Up - Rams & Seahawks Set for Week 11 Clash

Both squads with strong arguments to be better than all of the three 8-2 sides are NFC West opponents the Seahawks and Rams, who both scored 40 burgers to reach seven and two before next week's major meeting between the two in LA

They've both won four in a consecutive games, have signal callers in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units giving up fewer than twenty points a contest

Both could realistically be undefeated as too - particularly the Los Angeles as their two defeats occurred in extra time against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philly when they had a game-winning kick with the last kick blocked and run back by the Philadelphia for a score

The Seahawks also lost to the 49ers, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before falling to the final play of the contest against the Tampa Bay - so they're truly among the top teams in the league

The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year so far
