Iran Reports Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Counterattacks.

Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a significant and continuing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any impact is not yet known and the United States has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have shot down missiles in their airspace.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.

Additional Developments

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in the capital, causing some structural damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
