Performer Rejects Anti-Vax Views After Lending His Voice To Contentious Pandemic Documentary

Liam Neeson has given his narration to a feature-length documentary that questions the legitimacy of vaccines and praises ex- cabinet secretary the political figure.

The Film's Disputed Origins

Named "Plague of Corruption," the film is based on a bestselling book written by a controversial scientist, who became famous during the health crisis for allegations that the virus was caused by a faulty batch of the flu vaccine.

Her writing partner, the executive producer, has also written books with conspiracy-prone figure Alex Jones. He wrote online celebrating Neeson's participation in the documentary.

A Firm Rebuttal

The team of Liam Neeson have released a statement pushing back against suggestions that he subscribes to anti-vaccine sentiments.

"Many understand that misconduct might be present within the drug industry, but that cannot be conflated with opposition to vaccines," the comment states. "Liam is not, and is not, anti-vaccination. His extensive work with the UN children's agency reinforces his enduring support for public-health initiatives."

The response noted that the actor had no hand in the project's messaging and that inquiries about its assertions ought to go to the filmmakers.

Central Claims Featured in the Film

As presented, the narration read by Neeson makes several controversial statements:

  • It suggests that pro-immunization voices have called for "blind obedience" to health authorities.
  • It argues that "science has become highly influenced by politics."
  • RFK Jr is interviewed claiming, "The major issue with vaccines is that they simply are not properly vetted."
  • It further attacks pandemic restrictions, claiming they caused severe distress that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • Regarding Covid vaccines, it mentions a perspective that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "hazardous tests."

Historical Controversy and Ongoing Issues

The film further cites a past television report about HIV drug testing on children, which was later the topic of a correction by the network for editorial breaches.

Recently, RFK Jr instructed the CDC to revise its official position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is also referenced in the film, despite a fresh analysis from the global health body confirming no connection has been found.

A Previous Record of Advocacy

Contrasting the film's tone, Neeson has in the past shown strong support for vaccines in his capacity as a Unicef global ambassador.

Previously, he called vaccines as "an incredible triumph," adding that "The debate about vaccines in the past few years has forgotten how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in history."

"Plague of Corruption" finishes with Neeson's narration saying, "This is not the finish of our story. It is the beginning of a different phase."
