The Liverpool head coach acknowledged that it's understandable for questions to be asked about his future following a further convincing defeat versus the Dutch champions.
The Reds endured their ninth defeat in twelve games, representing the team's worst run after being relegated in the 1953-54 season.
They were outplayed by the Eredivisie champions on a tough evening at their home ground.
“I feel secure, I'm fine, I have got plenty of support from above,” Slot commented.
“It would be great to turn it around and get a victory obviously but when you're coaching a team and underperforming then it's expected that questions are asked.”
He noted, “I accept my situation. It is not the initial instance I’ve been in a tough spot but it's necessary that we changed our fortunes.”
When asked to elaborate on his dialogues with the club's leadership, Slot said:
“We communicate frequently. They assist for the squad and for me and those talks happen but they don’t call me all the time of the day to say they have faith in me.”
He mentioned, “In the normal exchanges I feel the belief. But I've not talked to them after this match so far so we'll see.”
Slot expressed regret over known weaknesses from his squad in their European loss, namely wasted chances and leaking goals.
Meanwhile, midfielder Jones was more direct in his view of the current crisis.
“I don’t have the answers. Frankly, I don’t. I'm telling that to everyone,” Jones remarked.
“It is unacceptable. I don’t even need to wait to reflect. I’m past being angry internally. I’m at the point currently where I just don’t have the phrases.”
He added, “It’s hard because I’m playing for the club I love. I'm a supporter, and I’ve seen this club since I was young.”
“In a long, long time, I haven’t experienced a Liverpool team experiencing a period of this nature with results so bad.”
Jones stated, “However we still have that badge on our chest. And until it is removed, we’re always going to fight.”
“We will attempt to help the side return to where it needs to be, prove once more what this club is about and why people call it the best team in the world.”
“At this moment, things are bad and it needs to change.”
