Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious run was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, however can the English top division frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.

For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' new record, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football team," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from injury but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be quite tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

This suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' only on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.

So, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.

My son advised me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great fortune on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it actually turns out to be quite close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

Fulham have got plenty of quality in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

As for Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

Their display in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of last month.

But I am not choose that. Rather, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home form, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
