Ukraine Begins Mass Production of New Interceptor Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

Ukraine has announced the start of mass production for a new domestically developed interceptor drone to reinforce its air defences. Three initial manufacturers have started manufacturing, with 11 more getting ready to establish production lines, the defence ministry stated on Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Proven in Combat Conditions

These UAVs will be based on a nationally created technology called “Octopus” designed to intercept Iranian-made drones. This technology underwent testing in actual battle and demonstrated successful “at night, amid electronic warfare and at low altitudes,” officials confirmed. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set an ambitious goal of manufacturing up to 1,000 interceptors each day.

The Ukrainian president described Russia’s latest attack on Ukraine as “deliberate, premeditated and brutal” after six individuals were killed and many others injured in a series of nocturnal attacks throughout Kyiv.
