Real-time updates features live text of the weekend matchups via various channels, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard through select stations for a separate game (from 21:00 BST).
We're in the sixth week of the football calendar and after recent discussion regarding two top teams being a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their perfect starts.
Striking in those games was the amount of penalties both conceded. The Eagles did so at crucial times meaning they kind of defeated themselves having led 17-3 entering the final quarter against Denver, who play in London this weekend.
However it proved positive to see how Denver quarterback Bo Nix was able to have that deficit and then lead three scoring drives on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the game by four points.
Denver have the defensive player of the year in cornerback Pat Surtain II. They are first in goal-line defense, while the Eagles lead the league in red zone offence, and the Broncos prevailed in that battle.
They had the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They did not necessarily sending more than four defenders instead they could position two LBs in the 'A' gap then withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.
At the start of the season, it was noted on a program that Denver could be this season's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year well and did a good job of building upon that.
Could Denver be this season's dark horses?
Recently acquired TE Evan Engram has stepped up significantly while new RB their rusher is a guy they believe in. He now ranks fifth league-wide for rushing yards (402) and tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).
I love how head coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.
This demonstrates how the Broncos are a team aiming to prioritize the run, because one can achieve much off the back of that. It slows down the pass rush and keeps you in favourable situations.
It's also helped quarterback the young passer, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, passing for 29 TDs – just behind a star QB in rookie records (31 back in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert possess the arm strength to pass all over, but they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He has exceptional arm talent, which is different, plus he is so athletic.
His assets are his movement, being able to pass while moving, and finding varied release points to make the pass when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He can deliver that layered pass over the middle or over the corner.
As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays great poise in the pocket and isn't really fazed by the blitz. He tries to evade a sack whenever possible and can pass under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and is very decisive.
If you consistently rush it consumes time and forces the defence to stay on the field extended periods, and if you have a mobile QB the defence must defend the field downfield and horizontally. This proves draining.
Nix has bitten back at Payton during games sometimes and I think Payton likes that fire, that he's such a competitor. I think it's exciting for him to have a young quarterback that is similar to play-dough. He can truly build something up the way he wants to build it. I believe it's a special experience for him.
Payton has won a championship and now surpassed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. In my opinion the success Denver are having on offence is mostly due to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB helps make him what he is.
There's no better a better guy guiding you, to assist you through some of the tougher situations and build confidence.
I have faith in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. But is the team good enough to go against an elite team at its best? Because that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.
Right now, it's unlikely Denver are elite. They're performing better than most, which is a solid position to hold their division. The key is is maintain this trajectory.
They excel at leaning into their forte, that is running the ball, and this is exactly what they must do versus the New York Jets in London. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.
New York have allowed 140 rushing yards per game (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (10th worst), and they're the sole squad without a win a game.
Ever since the league began tracking turnovers decades ago, the Jets are the inaugural squad to be without any turnovers through five games, which is surprising when you think that their new coach was previously a defensive coach with another team.
Patrick Mahomes stated Kansas City are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.
Following this Sunday's game, Denver face a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and Las Vegas Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.
Looking at their division, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run at leading the division.
This hinges upon what version Kansas City shows up they meet because Denver {beat|def
